PostSubject: [Photoshop] Creating a userbar   [Photoshop] Creating a userbar EmptyWed Mar 14, 2012 3:51 pm

Userbar is a small image that usually contains a hyperlink
Using a userbar to advertise your game is a good and money-saving idea, thus, it also gives your potential customer and/or friends, relatives,... a first impression about your game
So, today, I'm gonna show you how to create a userbar
First, open Photoshop and create a new image (Usually for Userbar, the size is 350x19 Pixels)

Now, you can either paste in a background that you have chosen or use a pattern (Through Blending Option) to create your own background

Optional:You can also use blending option to gives your background a little bit more detail (However, I will not use it in this tutorial)

Next, choose the text tool and change your size to about 18, choose your favorite fonts and type in your text, your text usually stay on the left hand, but you can do it right hand too

Now, choose your text layer and go to blending option, then start choosing your own effects

Note here that you should use effects effectively as to make your text become outstanding (you can give it shadows, textures, gradients,...) and readable

Now, paste in your game's image (Resize it if you need)

After you are done, merge all of your layers and you are done Laugh
Here's the result (I Also use color balance and a little smart sharpen to give the image more color and details)

Good luck and enjoy
