[3DSMax] Modeling A Simple Wineglass Empty
PostSubject: [3DSMax] Modeling A Simple Wineglass   [3DSMax] Modeling A Simple Wineglass EmptyThu Feb 09, 2012 3:04 pm

Today,I'm going to show you how to model a simple wineglass in 3DS Max 2011 (Older Versions Are Fine)
First,on the left side, choose create --> shapes --> line, you don't need to change any options though

Next, start drawing your glass shape on Front Viewport (You can also do it with Left Viewport though, however,Top Viewport will not work),remember, start drawing from bottom to top to make it easier

Keep drawing until you feel ready, then start drawing the inner shape

Once you are done, you should have your shape looks like this

As you can see,I do not close my spline since it'll screw the result model (When applying materials)
Next, select your shape then go to Modifier Tab (On the left side) then Expand your lines, choose Vertex and go down, choose Fille

Then move your vertices to make your shape looks smoother

After you are done, choose the first point (The point when you first start drawing)
[3DSMax] Modeling A Simple Wineglass Glass6
Then drop down the Modifier List and choose Lathe
[3DSMax] Modeling A Simple Wineglass Glass7
All done, now you should see your final result

All you need to do now is to apply your materials (Usually Glass Materials) to your model and you are done

Tips:
+If this is the first time you start modeling, you should try to do it with a blueprint,it is easier that way
+Using Fille tools, your model will looks smoother, but it's okay if you don't use it,it doesn't affect your model much
+Draw your line carefully so you won't need to fix it much
+You can use move tools to edit your Line in Vertex Mode (By moving your vertrices)

Good luck ^.^

P/S:I'm not a native English speaker so I might have Grammar Errors, please forgive me,thanks
